2019 CNBC Annual Convention

 

We want to invite our CNBC family of churches to Edmonton for our annual gathering on May 30 - June 1, 2019. Come enjoy the capital city of Alberta, situated along the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta's central region. Our hope is you will enjoy the variety of activities and multicultural experiences that our city has to offer, as you enjoy renewing and discovering new relationships with our CNBC family from across the nation.

Friday 2:30   Equipping Session 1


Risk Management

Caleb Cook

In this session, we will be going through the recommended coverages specific to churches and their unique needs. We will also have an open dIscussion on risk management techniques and strategies.

Caleb is 25 and has his CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation. He is always happy to discuss and review insurance matters. He graduated from MacEwan in 2017 and has been a follower of Christ since a young age. Caleb attends the Open Door Community Church.


Establishing a Christian Home, Parenting in Today's Culture

Ardell Milne

This session will explore how to help our children find their own faith in today’s culture.

Ardell Milne is a pastor’s wife, mom to three children, and grandma to four little ones. Being a mom and grandma has been one of her greatest blessings.


Intentional Evangelism

Cesar Parra

What does it look like to live your life on mission? This session will lead you through being an intentional missionary in your workplace and in your community.

Cesar is the Team Leader for Missions, Ethnic Churches, and Evangelism at the CNBC. He loves sharing his passion for evangelism and equiping others to lead an evangelistic lifestyle.


Healthy Church Planting Panel Discussion

Andrew Lamme and Dan Morgan

Come join a panel discussion with Andrew and Dan as they answer your questions and share their gained knowledge through their experiences in church planting.

Andrew got involved with church planting in 2002, when he met Jeff Christopherson, who was planting The Sanctuary Church. Church planting was not even on Andrew’s ‘radar’ before then but God had something else in store for him and his family.

Dan has been the church planting professor at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary & College and has also served as church planter team leader for the CNBC.

Paul is leader of the CNBC Church Strengthening team and pastor of ROOTS, an English congregation in Truth (Chinese) Baptist, Calgary and resident jokester of the CNBC.


Creative Ministry for Women

Kathy Morales and Rhona Hathaway

       

Build deeper connections and create community. Hear Rhona’s story and thoughts on Psalm 42–43, “An Upward Look from a Downcast Soul.”

Kathy Morales is a gifted teacher and conference speaker who has a passion for introducing people to Jesus. She is the team Leader for CNBC Women. She loves to facilitate opportunities for women to experience personal and spiritual growth.

Rhona Hathaway is the wife of Jim, pastor of Junction Church, mom of two adult children and Nana to one grandson. She has worked in women’s ministry for 20 years as church, district and national staff and is passionate about equipping leaders and discipleship.

CHILDRENS PROGRAM   

Birth–2 (Room 203) • Age 3–Grade 5 (Room 302)
There will be a wonderful, fun and engaging children’s program for kids of all ages. Bring your kids to enjoy a VBS style worship experience designed just for them.

There will be singing, crafts, worship times, teaching and fun activities in a safe, warm environment for them.

Children are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and runners.
