This week, we are excited to pray for IMB missionaries who call Canada home and make up our CNBC Mission Team. These units serve all across Canada in various capacities as part of their IMB appointment. For many of us, they are our church family, our neighbours, and even our friends. For all of us, they challenge us to consider God’s call on our lives and to respond in obedience. We are thankful for the example of these missionaries!
In total, there are 16 appointed “units” in all of Canada. A unit can consist of a single person, a couple, or a family. The IMB’s mandate for Canada is threefold, meaning these missionaries strategically engage in three particular areas. These areas include theological education, hard to reach people and university work. Many of these units are also heavily involved in church planting.
Because most of them work with hard to reach people and frequently travel to and from various closed countries, we cannot identify these missionaries nor give specifics about much of the work they do. However, today, we want to pray specifically for our 16 IMB units who are bringing the Gospel to people here in Canada.
Points of Prayer
-
Thank God for these missionaries who many of us have the pleasure and honour of working with and learning from. Praise God for the work they are doing.
-
Pray for the hard to reach people groups they work with. Pray that they would find favour amongst their specific target groups and that those groups would be open to the Gospel.
-
Pray for the university work many are involved in. Pray that God might use these missionaries to raise up a generation committed to seeking His Kingdom in this country.
-
Pray for the theological education many are involved in. Pray for their wisdom and strength, as they seek to train future church leaders and missionaries for tough places.
