EQUIP GATHERINGS AND BIOS

Friday 1:30   Equip Gathering 1

Churches Caring for Churches / Sanctuary

How can we cooperate together in God’s mission, God’s message, and God’s mandate for us as a family of churches? This session will explore the dynamics of collaboration and present a challenge to all CNBC churches to care for one another so that we can participate more fully in making disciples for the glory to God.

DR GARTH LENO is the CNBC National Team Leader for Pastor Care. In 2013, Garth and his wife Patty started a Bible study in their home in Windsor, Ontario. It grew quickly and the following year they planted The Gathering Church with help from the Send Network. Prior to The Gathering, the Lenos served in several local churches in Canada and the U.S.  They have three children and five growing grandchildren.

Recovering from Betrayal / Fellowship Hall

Whether your betrayal was personal or church related, forgiveness and recovery can be a long and difficult road. We will explore topics of forgiveness, trust, when to restore the relationship and when not to.

JENNIFER HOLMES is a Biblical Counsellor and Director of the Hope Care Centre, coming alongside churches in the mental health and relational care of their people by offering resources, seminars, and one on one care. She is also a speaker, podcaster, and writer on the topic of mental health and faith. You can find her latest book on her website, jensnewsong.com as well as her podcast and other resources. Follow her on Instagram for encouragement and glimpses into her daily life @jensnewsong as she works out what it means to be a Christian living with mental illness.

Friday 2:45   Equip Gathering 2

The Blessing of Unity / Sanctuary

In many places in our society, unity seems to be in short supply. We say we want it, but in the church, what kind of unity are we looking for? In this breakout session, we will answer that critical question, strategize and pray toward unity, and marvel at the blessing God gives to His united people.

SCOTT D MACDONALD serves as associate professor of theology with the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College in Cochrane, Alberta. Scott is married to Michal, and they have four children - Malachi, Adelaide, Isaiah, and Aliza.

The Key Elements for Living the Gospel / Fellowship Hall

How do we get to the gospel with people as a way of life and what key practical elements do we need as Christians in order to be effective disciple-makers in our own context.

CESAR PARRA  is a passionate, Chilean evangelist with a heart for sharing the gospel and equipping leaders to do the same. Cesar and his wife, Mary, currently live in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada with their three kids, Rebecca, David, and Sammy. He is a graduate of the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary, where he received his Masters of Divinity, and has served as a pastor, church planter, and missionary all over Canada and the world. Cesar serves as the Team leader for Evangelism, Missions, and Youth at the Canadian National Baptist Convention. He also co-pastors a new Hispanic church plant in Calgary, Alberta.
