Jeff and Ring Kwok are one of three fully funded missionary units commissioned by the CNBC in partnership with the International Mission Board. Because you give to the Global Mission Offering, seminary students are being trained for eternal Kingdom impact and churches are being planted all across Taiwan through Jeff and Ring’s ministry.

Our Life to Share:
We had a relaxing summer though we still needed to attend school meetings and be in our office to prepare this semester’s teaching. We had opportunities to get away from our offices for about ten days to attend the company’s big meeting, and two short breaks to explore new places and celebrate one full year of living in Taiwan.
School events for the new school year began on August 20. Twenty- eight new students arrived and attended a one-week new students’ orientation. Yet, some students from China and Myanmar did not arrive, due to visa processing. They may not begin school for this school year. Please remember them. Pray that they could join the next group of new students in 2020.
As faculty, we were scheduled to attend several sessions and lead at least one session of the orientation events. The fall semester officially began on September 2, but Jeff has already started his teaching on August 31 at an extension centre in Taitung. This semester both of us will be super busy. Jeff has to teach two courses off campus. He needs to travel every Thursday to Taoyaun and every Friday to Taitung in order to teach a Saturday morning class.
Ring will teach four courses on campus. Of these four courses, two are totally new. On top of our teaching, each of us has to supervise students for their thesis writing and mentor a small group of six to eight students. Please remember our ministry at the seminary.
Story to Share:
On August 4, we attended a church planters’ inauguration service in Taoyuan. The two main planters were in Jeff’s church planting course last fall. After the course, one of them shared her heart for church planting and discussed her idea with Jeff. Jeff gave her some suggestions and encouraged her to pray on the site and do more research for that corner of the city. After several months, these two students joined together with their families and decided to plant a church together. Praise the Lord that President Tsai of the seminary also joined them in this plant as he would have his sabbatical year in the coming school year. Pray that God will bless this plant and give them wisdom wherever they go and share the Gospel with their neighbors. Please also ask God to prepare people’s hearts when they hear the Good News.
Praise:
Praise Father for His faithfulness and kindness. We have been here for one full year. As we look forward to our second school year here, we continue to taste His abundant blessings upon us.
Praise Father for giving us a relaxing summer, though we still needed to attend meetings and retreats.
Prayer Requests:
Because of our full teaching load, ask God for wisdom to teach and travel mercy to off-campus classes.
Whenever Jeff doesn’t need to preach or we do not need to visit a student’s church, we attend Sunday service at Grace Baptist Church. Starting in September this church will start a Cantonese Group; we are thinking about participating in this ministry. Pray that God shows us His direction, especially since out workload at the seminary is already so heavy.
We plan to organize a short-term mission trip next summer. We will take some students to experience overseas missions ministry.
