Social Justice Ministry

Social Justice Ministry

Although Social Justice has become a buzz word in Christian circles over the past few years, it has been an essential element of the Christian life for centuries. Following Jesus points us to a life that defends the dignity and well-being of all persons, especially the poor and powerless. Social Justice encompasses conversations, actions and movements that reflect Christ’s unconditional love through actively empowering those who are oppressed or forgotten.

The opportunity for your church to become involved in Social Justice Ministry can change hearts and lives, including those of your church family. Social Justice Ministry allows individuals to be directly involved in serving the marginalized in your community and beyond by sharing a living gospel of Love. You can start with simple ways like hosting a documentary about human trafficking or providing volunteer information for your local food bank.  Partnering with existing ministries and local organizations supports those who are experienced in this work and builds relationships between your church and your community.

Amanda is a member of Discovery Baptist Church in Regina, SK. Their church family supports an inner-city outreach by providing food and a team of volunteers on a monthly basis. They have sponsored a clean water well in Tanzania and are active in other life-giving opportunities locally and globally. Amanda has been involved in multiple anti-human trafficking initiatives and has been a foster parent since 2012. She looks forward to supporting your community of faith in bringing gospel-centered justice to your community and the world.
